S1252. This is an outstandingly beautiful musical box, which sits on a matching table with turned legs, and which has a drawer for the extra cylinders. The movement is a good “Mandolin Piccolo” by Mojon Manger, with four six air cylinders 33 cm. long, the tunes listed on the original tune card, with a double spring barrel and a tune indicator. The high quality case and table are veneered in amboyna, with ebony and boxwood edging and ornate drop handles. The lid is centred with a cartouche in pierced brass, ebony, white metal and mother of pearl A good buy at £15,500
