SUPERB LARGE GORGE CASED CARRIAGE CLOCK BY DROCOURT.

This large two train carriage clock by Drocourt of Paris is of exceptional quality, striking and repeating the hours on a bell. It is in a gorge case, the movement number 7322, fitted with an English lever platform escapement, the name on back plate and dial being “Klaftenberger” Regent Street , London . The back plate also bears the trademark of Drocourt, the letters D and C with a carriage clock between them.. The antique brass winding key also bears the serial number 7322. The case is ten inches high including the ornate carrying handle.
The standard reference work by Alllix and Bonnert, CARRIAGE CLOCKS, describes those by Drocourt as “superb carriage clocks, predominantly decorative and always attractive in appearance”
This clock has been fully restored by our own craftsmen and is in superb condition and running well with a good action. The case is lacquered and will require no cleaning.
